The only students that do not need visa are those from the European Union.
How do I receive a certificate that allows me to get a students visa?
Students who are not citizens of the European Union have to pay the entire tuition in order to get a certificate to apply for the visa.
If I receive a visa and then decide to cancel my tuition will The Cristina Heeren Flamenco Foundation return my money?
The Cristina Heeren Flamenco Foundation will not return your money because visas are granted based on the seriousness of the students. Those who decide to use their visas in alternative ways can be deported by Spanish immigrations.
Can I receive a certificate that will allow me to obtain financial aid from my home country?
Once the artistic or academic record of the students are analyzed, The Cristina Heeren Flamenco Foundation can provide the students with a certificate that supports their request for a financial aid in their home country. The Cristina Heeren Flamenco Foundation will specify in this certificate that it is not valid to obtain visa.
RESERVATION AND DEADLINE OF ADMISSION
What is the deadline date to reserve admission?
Admission is open to students until spaces are filled for each department. The same procedure will be followed in the summer intensive course.
When should I pay the admission deposit?
Tuition reserves a space for the student, therefore; tuition should be paid immediately after specifying which classes and dates you will attend.
Is my deposit refunded if I cancel my reservation?
You must cancel your reservation from your home country, and before you begin the course. Once you are in Seville and you have begun the course, your deposit will not be refunded.
Can I receive a discount if I do not attend theoretical classes?
There is any discount for not attending theoretical classes.
Can I enroll just for one trimester of the annual courses?
Students are allowed to enroll just for the first trimester but only if there are available spaces.
Can I enroll just for one week or month in the annual courses?
No, you cannot enroll just for one week or month in the annual courses.
LODGING AND EMPLOYMENT
Can The Cristina Heeren Flamenco Foundation help me to find employment in Seville?
The Cristina Heeren Flamenco Foundation does not help students to find employment.
Can The Cristina Heeren Flamenco Foundation help me to find lodging in Seville?
Students must find lodging by themselves. The Cristina Heeren Flamenco Foundation just provides a list with several addresses and phone numbers of available flats and rooms to rent. The school is not responsible for any problem students could have with the flats or rooms they rent.
SCHOLARSHIPS
How can I receive a scholarship to study at The Cristina Heeren Flamenco Foundation?
There are four types of scholarships available at The Cristina Heeren Flamenco Foundation: scholarships for students from Andalucía, scholarships for students from the United States, scholarships for former students and scholarships in collaboration with other institutions.
How do I receive a scholarship for students from Andalucía?
The candidate should participate in any of the Flamenco Contests that The Cristina Heeren Flamenco Foundation announces all over Andalucía. These Contests are addressed to young Flamenco artists and they are organized in collaboration with “El Corte Inglés” and local councils. They include every specialties of Flamenco Art.
How can I receive a scholarship for students from the United States?
The Cristina Heeren Flamenco Foundation has created “American Friends of Flamenco”, located in New York. This institution finances three scholarships for students from the United States in every academic year. If you are interested in receiving this financial aid you have to send a letter to The Cristina Heeren Flamenco Foundation in Seville, addressed to Fernando Iwasaki (Director of the School). The deadline of admission for these letters is the end of November of each academic year.
US residents who are studying at The Cristina Heeren Flamenco Foundation have preferences for requesting this financial aid. The deadline of admission for these students’ letters will be the end of May of each academic year.
How can I receive a scholarship for former students?
To receive this scholarship the student must have the following requirements: The student must have completed two full years at The Cristina Heeren Flamenco Foundation in which the student paid the full tuition. The student must have shown talent, responsibility, discipline and qualities during their enrollment. The candidate must be able to show the ability required to be a scholarship student at The Cristina Heeren Flamenco Foundation. There are only six scholarships given each year to former students.
What are the obligations for scholarship students?
Scholarship students are asked to be monitors in their respective classes and specialties in The Cristina Heeren Flamenco Foundation. Scholarship students are also chosen to be representatives of The Cristina Heeren Flamenco Foundation in different activities of the school.
If I receive a scholarship can it be taken away?
Yes, scholarships students can loose their scholarships for not attending the classes, lack of discipline and interest, as well as for refusing to complete scholarship obligations.
If I receive a scholarship for a certain level can I move to another level?
If you have received a scholarship for a specific level you must stay in that level, but in certain cases the decision is up to the director.
ACADEMIC PROGRAM
Can I choose courses from different specialties?
Students cannot choose courses from different specialties. Some exceptions can be made in regards to theoretical classes.
How do I know which is the right level for me?
The teachers will determine the right level for you on the first days of classes. Some changes can be made during the following two weeks.
Can you study at The Cristina Heeren Flamenco Foundation if you do not speak Spanish?
Yes, it is possible to attend The Cristina Heeren Flamenco Foundation without knowing Spanish. But it is recommended to try to learn Spanish in order to understand the explanations of the teachers and have a more pleasant stay in Seville.
Do they teach percussion classes?
Percussion classes are not taught at The Cristina Heeren Flamenco Foundation. There are rhythm and clapping classes available.
Are there classical Spanish Dance classes (Escuela Bolera, Regional Dances, Stylized Dance, etc) available at The Cristina Heeren Flamenco Foundation?
No, they are not available.

The Cristina Heeren Flamenco Foundation is located in the historical center of Seville in the Santa Cruz neighborhood very close to the cathedral, the Giralda and the Reales Alcázares.
What is the schedule for The Cristina Heeren Flamenco Foundation?
From October to June, The Cristina Heeren Flamenco Foundation opens from 9 AM to 2 PM and from 5 PM to 8 PM, Mondays to Thursdays. On Fridays the Foundation opens from 9 AM to 3 PM. From July to September the Foundation opens from 9AM to 3PM.
