A student wishing to enroll in any of the courses, whether it be for one semester, or a workshop at the Fundación Cristina Heeren must follow the instructions in  order as suggested  below:

1. SEND THE REGISTRATION REQUEST that appears on our website, clearly specifying the course, the semester, or the workshop as well as the speciality that you have chosen.
2. SEND ONLINE PROOF OF YOUR LEVEL OF PROFICIENCY before the due date that corresponds to the specific course; * (consult the calendar for the date applicable to the online test).
3. PAY THE TOTAL PRICE of the selected course, semester, or workshop within the correct delay. * (Consult the price list and the calendars of due dates).

HOW DO I CALCULATE THE LEVEL WHICH APPLIES TO ME? 

The teachers of the school of the Fundación Cristina Heeren will determine a student’s level according to two tests: one online and the other in person on site,

both in the case of the Annual Course and that of the Intensive Summer Course.

If you are a new student of the school of the Fundación Cristina Heeren, please help us to place you in the class which best applies to your needs and objectives.

And do not be afraid of the level tests. We are only trying to get to know you!

Be conscious of the fact that testing your level will simply facilitate your place the class that more accurately corresponds to your knowledge and to your aptitudes.

No. The registration deposit cannot be refunded.

The academic programme is designed to cover a complete year of studies. Under exceptional circumstances students may register for a single semester of the Annual Course.* Consult the section relating to prices and payment calendar.

By the same token, we cannot apply any discounts in the case of students who do not wish or are unable to study one of the subjects included in the academic programme of the Fundación Cristina Heeren.

Registration for the Annual Course offers the possibility of signing up for individual subjects. In the case of a subject that the FCH offers at different levels (basic, intermediate, and advanced), only the teachers of the school are qualified to determine to which level a student belongs and can register according to the online and in situ test.

• The Cristina Heeren Foundation reserves the right to cancel an application in the case of a registered person who has not proceeded to payment within the dates that appear on the payment calendar.
• The Fundación Cristina Heeren reserves the right to cancel a course before it starts should the minimum number of students be insufficient. In this case the student will be refunded for the course.
• In the case where a course is cancelled, the Fundación Cristina Heeren will not be held responsible for any expenses relating to travel or loging.

The cancellation of a course on the part of a student once the course has officially started and therefore a service has been provided, will not be elligible for refund.

Under no circumstances will a cancellation free a student of his obligation to settle his account nor allow him or her to be refunded.

No, the school does not offer percussion classes. However our programme contains rhythmic studies and “palmas” technique.

The Dance programme includes 120 hours of Spanish Classical Ballet classes.

The academic programme of the Fundación Cristina Heeren does not permit the study of subjects from other specialities.

Yes, the academic programme includes a choice of one optional subject per course.

The choice of optional subject by the student will not be arbitrary: it will depend on his or her regular schedule and cannot conflict with the required classes of the programme.

The optional subjects are these:

• Spanish Language for foreigners.
• Musical Language and Theory (an intermediate level of Spanish is required.)
• History and Artistic Biographies of prestigious performers in Cante, Baile, and Flamenco Guitar (an intermediate level of Spanish is required).

The student who wishes to join the First Course of the programme must be capable of executing the following:

DANCE

• A simple turn on an axis
• Basic Zapateado (sole, ball, and heel)
• Basic arm movements
• .  Hand movements in position
• Body coordination with weight change

   GUITAR

• Simple rasgueo
• Arpeggio
• Basic chords

Also required: basic musical experience in Flamenco or any other type of music. Guitar students must know how to play the guitar, as the aim of the school is to teach Flamenco, not guitar-playing.

CANTE

• Ability to sing IN TUNE and a sense of rhythm.

Those students who do not belong to the European Community must obtain a visa to study in Spain. Thus these students will be required to pay their entire fee in advance so as to receive the certificate from the school enabling them to request a student visa from a Spanish Consulate in their country of origin. The only students who do not need a student visa are those who are citizens of the European Community. Once in Seville, foreign students who might need to carry out further transactions should communicate with the OFICINA DE EXTRANJEROS DE SEVILLA, at Plaza de España, Torre Norte, 41013; telephone: 955-569536, from Monday to Thursday from 9am to 5:30pm, and on Friday from 9am to 2pm.

Citizens of countries outside the European Union who wish to register at the school of the Fundación Cristina Heeren can receive an admission certificate once they have paid the course fee in its totality.

Absolutely not. Visas are granted due to the known serious quality of the academic programmes of the Fundación Cristina Heeren, and anyone using this visa of entry into Spain for any other purpose will be prosecuted by the Spanish authorities.

Having first analysed the artistic and academic record of a student, the Fundación Cristina Heeren can grant a certificate supporting the student’s request for financial aid in his or her country. However the terms of the certificate will make it clear that the document cannot be used as a basis for a visa request.

The Fundación Cristina Heeren refrains from cooperating in the search for employment for its students.

The students themselves look for their lodging. However the Fundación Cristina Heeren submits to resgistered students a list of different options, including addresses and telephone numbers relating to apartments and rooms for rent.
